Treadmills/ BWS – old news?


Results from the Locomotor Experience Applied Post-Stroke (LEAPS) trial were recently presented at the American Stroke Association’s International Stroke Conference 2011 in Los Angeles. They discovered that patients with a stroke who had a home-based PT improved their walking ability to the same level as those who were enrolled in a program using BWS followed by practice walking, and both were better than usual care. Will treadmills with BWS systems be a thing of the past?
