Beers list for meds/elderly built on concensus – is there something better?

As I was searching for the draft update for the Beers list for medications in the elderly, I came across this article.  Beers is from a consensus of experts (which is better than nothing) but there have been no RCT’s for the elderly and the meds that are on it.  There is a new tool out there called STOPP (Screening Tool of Older Persons’ potentially inappropriate Prescriptions) which predicted adverse drug events better than the Beers’ List (2x as often).  I’ve never heard of the list, but it would be interesting to see further research and for Beers’ to either expand their list or to join forces with STOPP.
